Junior Infant's Nature Walk

Our Junior Infants had a wonderful time on their Autumn Nature Walk with their 6th Class Buddies. Together, they set off to explore the green opposite the church, looking out for all the beautiful signs of autumn along the way.

The children collected colourful leaves, spotted conkers, and noticed how the trees are changing as the seasons turn. The 6th Class Buddies were fantastic helpers — chatting with their younger friends, pointing out interesting things in nature, and making sure everyone had fun and stayed safe. On returning to school, 6th Class helped Junior Infants find and list all signs of autumn they found. 


It was a lovely morning filled with friendship, fresh air, and discovery. A big thank you to our 6th Class Buddies for helping make it such a special experience for our Junior Infants!

Senior G.A.A.  Both our girls and boys senior teams were competing in Cumann na mBunscoil gaelic football since Easter. Both teams played three tight matches which ended today. The girls were very unfortunate to lose by 2 points in their last match against Scoil Choca Naofa while the boys lost by 2 after extra time. This double header will surely be core memories for the 6th class pupils involved. It is so great to see them giving their all in the Straffan NS jersey and we strongly encourage them to continue representing their future schools as well. Such great talent amongst the group.

Well done to the boys and girls who competed in the Cumann na mBunscol Cross Country races today in Ráthcoffey GAA ​All involved showed great fitness and determination, navigating a long course against strong competition. Representing the school at this level requires significant effort, and every runner should be proud of finishing their race. ​ Thanks to all involved in organising an event of this size.  ​
